Bath and North East Somerset Independent Group (BIG) is a not-for-profit political organisation registered with the Electoral Commission in the United Kingdom

The data we hold is stored on servers owned by Wild Apricot which are based in Canada. Canada has data privacy and protection rules that are equivalent to those which operate in the United Kingdom. When becoming a member you are asked to consent to your data being held with Wild Apricot. Your consent can be withdrawn at any time by notifying us at the email address provided below. This will result in your data being removed.
Because holding personal data about you might amount to holding data about your political opinions, your membership may constitute sensitive personal data.

If in your application for membership you tick the box indicating your willingness to act as a volunteer to help BIG achieve its aims, we may share your information with other members who have been accepted as volunteers and they may contact you for these purposes.
In posting to our forums, communicating with other members, commenting on our articles or otherwise engaging in online conversations about BIG activities, you are encouraged to show respect to other participants at all times and agree to take full responsibility for the content of your posts.
Members whose views and opinions are considered extreme or offensive or who engage in abusive forms of communication may have membership revoked.
When you visit bigindependents.org, we use a third-party service, Google Analytics, to collect internet log information to find out such things as the number of visits to various parts of the site, and how visitors got there. We use this information to help assess how successful we are are getting our message across and attracting interest in the idea that national party politics has no place in local government and that local people can do a better job.
